The first several photos are views of Kampala driving around. Kampala is a really big city, just really poor.
This photo was taken from the babies home. You can see really far usually, but it looks hazy because of the all the pollution.

They burn their garbage on the side of the road or wherever they pile it up. It smells really bad when they do.
Hungry anyone? This meat store was just down the road from the babies home and no there is no air conditioning or any way to keep the meat cool.
You probably can't see the sign, but it says Obama restuarant. They love Obama there so we saw many place like Obama Haircut Salon and things like that. One of our drivers even had a Obama ringtone on his cell phone. It was Obama giving a speech about change.

We went to an African culture dance one night. Look at all those baskets on her head. They got a lot higher. No one droped any.

After the safari we took a boat ride up to the Falls. There were some Ugandan's on the boat and when they saw the Falls they raised their hands and said "Praise God for the wonderful and beautiful creation He has made. Glory be to God."
We stopped and saw the white rhinos on the way home from Murchison Falls.

We walked around at the top of the Falls also. There was a lot of mist in the air from the Falls and that is why the pictures aren't clear.
This is where we stayed the second night. It was much better. Each hut had two beds in it.

I saved the best pictures for last. These are pictures of Ruth. Lord willing we will be adopting Ruth very soon!! Please pray that we can bring her home before the holidays. I miss my girl!

Some of you may not know how this all came about. Well, I didn't know Shawnda very well before we went to Uganda together, but I knew who she was and that she was looking for someone to go with her. Now Africa is the last place on earth I ever wanted to go, but when I heard she was looking for someone, my first reaction was "I wish I could go" then I quickly put it out of my mind because I thought that was crazy. I told the Lord if this thought was from Him He would have to lay it on my husbands heart also. Later I was telling Tim about them looking for someone to go and he said "I wish you could go". That was really crazy! Then, I couldn't sleep, I just had the OVERWHELMING feeling that I needed to talk to Shawnda. I didn't want to because I didn't know her very much and I thought she would think I was crazy and I thought that she had probably already found a friend to go with her. Well, the Lord did not let me sleep until I obeyed and with His kicking and pushing me I reluctantly emailed her late one Saturday night. Well, she got the email and we talked on Sunday. Tim and I started to feel that we needed to really pray about me going. We fasted and prayed and by Tuesday we had decided that I would go and a week later Shawnda and I were flying to Uganda! I have never felt that promting so strong from the Lord before so I knew I better listen. I just can't explain how it felt, but I knew the Lord telling me I had to go. I didn't know why at the time. After working in the babies home I thought maybe the reason the Lord wanted me to go was because of a precious baby girl that had just gotten there 5 days before me. Tim and I prayed about her for a couple of weeks and we knew that we had to pursue adopting her. So that is where we are now. We are starting the process of adopting Ruth and as soon as possible I will be going back. So we are praying the Lord would provide the finances for the adoption, and for someone to go with me, and for things to be quick, and for there to be no problems. After what He has already done, we know that he will provide!
