Hatchers Pass

One thing we never did when we lived in Alaska was go to Hatcher's Pass. There are old gold mining buildings and lots of hiking trails. So one day we drove up there with Tami and hiked around. SOOO beautiful!!

After the mine, we hiked up to find a little pond that Tami told us about

One day while I was doing wedding things with the girls, Tim decided to take all the kids hiking up Flat Top.

but then on the way down this happened. Yes, that really is Tim's finger. He dislocated it. Ellie got scared climbing down and grabbed Tim and pulled him down.

Seward

We drove to Seward for the day and had lunch, went to the Alaska Sea Life Center, then, on our way back to Anchorage, we stopped and hiked up to Exit Glacier. We had to best weather this day!!

Anchorage

 One morning we took the kids down by the inlet to watch the airplanes coming in for landings and to walk around.

A very common sight and sound in Anchorage. I had forgotten how constant and frequent the sound of small planes in the summertime are in Alaska until we went back recently.

Then we took the boys to the airport to watch the float planes land on the water. The boys were SOOO excited to see this!! They LOVED it!! And being that my dad loved small planes it was fun to see such excitement in my boys also.
