No rest for the weary

I was going through my pictures and realized that I forgot to post a few from Grandpa and Grandma's visit. One day Grandpa tried to take a nap. In our house that is impossible. Here is what happened when Grandpa tried to rest-he was assaulted. (the first two pictures). And Grandma never got any rest either because Ellie always wanted to play school or church with Grandma. She must have spent hours playing in her room. I know Ellie and the boys had fun with their Granpdarents and I am glad they were able to come for a visit.

Sweet boys

Overlook the mess and see what the boys are doing. They are holding hands. It is so sweet. They have been doing that a lot more lately. Their car seats are next to each other and very often I will look back at them and they are holding hands while in their seats. They have been interacting more and more with each other, especially while playing with their toys. I love watching them together-so cute.

Dreaming

Ellie has started telling us her dreams. It is sometimes funny to hear what little kids dream about. Sunday morning Ellie woke up early crying and saying she had a bad dream. I asked her what it was about. I was expecting something horrible because the other day she said she had a dream that mommy and daddy got lost. When I asked her if she was scared she said no because God was always watching out for her. So, when she was crying, I thought maybe she had a dream about a whabageeba (big foot like creature that Ellie made up). So I held her and asked what her dream was about. "Mommy, I dreamed that a ladybug bit me." I started laughing-I couldn't help myself.

Monkey Joes

Grandma and Grandpa Balts were able to come to Charlotte for a visit. They arrived on the 4th and the kids have been having so much fun with them. Grandma and Grandpa took Ellie to Monkey Joes on Wednesday. She loves going there and she had so much fun.

It's a party

We had a 1st birthday party for the boys at the Gibson estate. (Thank you Lindsay for letting us trash your house). We had a good time celebrating the boys with our friends (thank you all for coming). The boys really liked the cake. Can you guess which one grabbed it and had it all over his body? Zander would be the right answer. Zander immediately dug in and ate every bit of it. He had it all over himself. (of course the one who hates his bath is the one that needed one) On the other hand, Connor wasn't sure at first and he hesitated a little, but once he tasted it, he grabbed the whole piece and tried to eat it all at once. Connor also decided it was better to crawl up on all fours (instead of the belly crawl). He looked so cute crawling around with a ball in his mouth. (he has no shirt b/c it is after the cake and I didn't think to bring an extra set of clothes)

Happy birthday to my two handsome boys. I can't believe it has been a year since your surprise birth. It was a stressful begining, to say the least, but the Lord has brought us through and we feel so incredibly blessed to have you boys. We have definietly been doubly blessed. Thank you Lord for these little boys.
Your sister loves you so much. I love to hear her when she grabs one of you boys and says "I love you little man. You are so special." She keeps asking me "mommy, when I grow up can I be their mommy." It is so cute. She loves you both so much and you love her. When one of you cries she will sing "twinkle, twinkle little star" and you will stop to listen to her (usually).
It has been so fun to watch you boys grow. You are both happy little boys (now =))and you smile alot, but you are also very different. Connor will give a big smile to anyone and Zander is so shy he hides his face when he smiles. Zander is more aggressive, always taking whatever Connor has. If Connor has it, he wants it. And Connor doesn't really care when Zander takes his things, he just moves on to something else. Zander loves to cuddle, while Connor doesn't like being held still for very long. Connor loves to eat and sleep, while Zander would rather play. You guys are just so fun to watch. You keep me on my toes! I love being your mom and I am so thankful the Lord has given you both to us. Happy Birthday!
